Important update to live-in Nannies’ salaries from April 2024.
On the 23rd of January 2024 new National Minimum Wage legislation was laid before Parliament and approved by both Houses.
The result of this update is that live-in employees must now be paid at least the National Minimum Wage, which for the 2026/2027 tax year is £12.71 per hour gross (for employees aged 21 and over).
For employers who provide separate accommodation for their employees there is an accommodation offset allowance per 7-day week, which can be offset against the minimum hourly rate, this allowance is currently £77.70 per 7 day week (2026/2027 tax year).
